Our Philosophy

Dedicated to Christ

What is our philosophy? We begin with the presupposition that education is inescapably rooted in religious faith and performs a religious function for both the individual and society—education cannot be separated from religion. Educational values and content are an expression of the operating beliefs of a culture. The selected curriculum “. . . expresses the religious standards and expectations of a culture.”   View our curriculum for Summits 7-12 Grade in the embedded .PDF below.

A Letter from the Summit Director

Dear Friend,

Thank you for your interest in Summit Christian Academy and we’re pleased to be able to provide you with information about the school.

Our goal is to provide a strong academic foundation from a specifically Christian worldview as well as to offer students a full and satisfying cultural experience which includes the opportunities to engage in team sports, participate in both fine arts and the performing arts and other rewarding and beneficial extracurricular activities. This means that we are expanding in areas that many schools are cutting back in or are eliminating entirely. For instance, for the 2009/2010 school year, Summit will offer drama/theater, choir, woodshop, art and craft classes with pottery wheels, kilns and looms, expand a cooking and nutrition class and, along with existing sports, add lacrosse in the spring. We are currently in discussions with another Christian school to join together to potentially provide high school hockey (but I don’t want to get too far ahead of things there.)
