I Have a Problem, I Don't Want to Change, Please Help

"I Have a Problem, I Don't Want to Change, Please Help"

Just one of the myriad reasons I don't waste my time on extended counseling.

By Craig R. Dumont

Some time back, Dr. Lanny Johnson shared with me the conclusion he had reached after years of providing counsel to people seeking his help. Ostensibly they were seeking solid advice in various matters; however, in reality most were foraging for magical solutions that conveniently avoided any moral and ethical change in their lives. They were saying in effect, if not directly by words, "I have a problem, I don't want to change, please help!"

Book Review: The End Of Science: Facing the Limits of Knowledge in the Twilight of the Scientific Age

The End Of Science: Facing the Limits of Knowledge in the Twilight of the Scientific Age

by John Horgan

Published by Broadway Books 1997

 Reviewed by Craig R. Dumont

I have recently visited the mind of a pagan (or rather, many pagans) and it is an extremely dark and depressing place. Although the visit took place by accident, it served, hopefully, a productive purpose as it provided a loud wake-up call, and perhaps even an intellectual call-to-arms for Christians to fend off a return to pre-Christian blindness with people groping in sheer and utter blackness of night.

The Redemption of Sex

By Craig R. Dumont, Sr.

 Proverbs 5:15-19; Song of Solomon 1:1-4; 5:10-16; 7:1-9

One of the more talked about issues of our day is sex and sexuality. Tragically, it is the world doing all the talking and it is the world that sets the agenda and the parameters of the discussion and as would be expected, it's a twisted, perverted view of sex that is being set forth.

Why We Need Christians In Business

By Terry Applegate

Before I get too far along in my presentation, I want to say the one problem we do not have is that there are too few Christians in business. It’s not that we can’t always use more Christians in business; of course we pray that the numerical presence of Christians increase in every area or realm of life. The point is, however, that almost everywhere you turn these days you find businessmen who make a confession of faith in Christ.

The Financial Value of God's Law Part Two: Marriage Laws

By Craig R. Dumont, Sr.

Macroeconomics: The study of the overall aspects and workings of a national economy, such as income, output, and the interrelationship among diverse economic sectors.

Microeconomics: The study of the operations of the components of a national economy, such as individual firms, households, and consumers.

"'It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is right for him' . . . So the Lord God caused him to fall into a deep sleep. While the man was sleeping, the Lord God took out one of the man's ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. Then the Lord God formed a woman from the rib that He had taken from the man. He brought her to the man. The man said, 'This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. She will be named woman because she was taken from man' That is why a man will leave his father and mother and will be united with his wife, and they will become one flesh."             Genesis 2:18-24
